Special Session on Impact of intelligent systems and data science on agricultural, aquaculture, and biomedical research fields for sustainable development of the Mekong Delta region(ISDS-AAB)

Introduction

Sustainable development under climate change is an important issue in the Mekong Delta region and technical innovation is expected in the agricultural, aquaculture, and biomedical fields toward its rational solution. Can Tho University, known as an academia center of the Mekong Delta, has promoted that innovation through the JICA-supported industry-academia collaboration projects* and the regional collaboration activities (SDMD2045). Since intelligent systems and data science are essential for that innovation, there are strong expectations for collaborative researches with these specialists. This session aims to share such collaborative researches in the agricultural, aquaculture, and/or biomedical fields to discuss these impacts on the technical innovation**. Any preliminary or ongoing research is also welcome even before actual collaboration to discuss its potential for future collaboration. Participation is strongly encouraged to young researchers and students interested in interdisciplinary research as well as technical innovation.

**This session is supported by JSPS Core-to-Core Program Number (JPJSCCB2023005) “Establishment of research network for agricultural biomedical research by the fusion of natural product chemistry and medical information engineering”.

Scope

Any kind of collaborative research is welcome related to the fields of agriculture, aquaculture, and biomedicine. The actual collaboration result is favorable, but not mandatory. New ideas or preliminary attempts on intelligent systems and data science for such fields are also welcome. Typical keywords include (but not limited to): environment monitoring, crop estimation, quality assessment, biomedical and medical image processing, computer-aided diagnosis, academia-industry cooperation, etc.
